Ever since I was in middle school, I knew I was something of an old soul. While my friends listened to ’90s pop hits, I listened to old jazz and Motown records and spent hours upon hours attempting to figure out their inner workings on the piano. Listening to these records truly transported me — I appreciated the creativity, skill, and — above all — natural talent that went into their creation. Years later, as a musician living in New York City, I formed Postmodern Jukebox as way to bring the classic sounds I loved back into the mainstream, and to build a platform to celebrate real, unadulterated, deserving talent.
Today, it’s been five years since Postmodern Jukebox performed its first show, and our family has grown to include nearly fifty singers and another fifty instrumentalists, all of whom now have the opportunity to perform the classic genres they love for the audiences who appreciate them. The vocalists sing every note live, without any tuning help. The musicians make every sound you hear on stage and in my living room with the instruments you see them playing. That doesn’t matter to everyone, but it matters to us and I believe it matters to our fans. We do it the old fashioned way and we love every second of it.
Thanks to our millions of fans around the world, Postmodern Jukebox has become the rotating collective of musical outcasts that have somehow found a home and there are still many incredible, undiscovered talents out there that I really am excited to share with you. And its my promise to continue to share with you, the best natural performers from around the world, and give them a platform they deserve in this wonderful, musical universe we call Postmodern Jukebox.

‘Fake Blues’ Offers a new twist by tackling film music: namely, a set of jazz variations on themes from Harry Potter. Swing the Vote
Swing the Vote! An album that provided a much-needed jolt of Bradlee’s nostalgic irreverence at a time when both sides in the contentious election were looking fondly back – some to a time when America was Great, others to a time when our politics seemed saner. PMJ called in their first star vocalist, Robyn Adele Anderson, to jazz up Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” in Benny Goodman fashion, and Rick Rolled the country with an old-school soul take on “Never Gonna Give You Up” featuring Clark Beckham. Forget Tay Tay’s #Squad; PMJ has been building their multi-talented family since the beginning, and ‘Squad Goals’ shows off their dazzling range. ‘PMJ and Chill’ brings Bradlee and company back to the present day (well, as much as possible for this retro-by- nature crew) with a sweet soul cover of Adele’s ubiquitous “Hello,” a jolt of infectious Motown energy on Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” and a vintage “Hotline Bling” with Cristina Gatti singing about technology that was decades in the future when such velvety jazz tones were last in fashion. Finally, Nicole Atkins helps the group bid a bittersweet farewell to rock icon David Bowie with a tender “Heroes” that reappeared in a Heineken anti-drunk driving PSA. Buy Album
33 Resolutions Per Minute
PMJ rang in the new year of 2017 by looking back at the last few decades of popular song (and looking back even further still from there) on ’33 Resolutions Per Minute’, which features some of the biggest hits of the ‘80s, ‘90s and ‘00s re-imagined through Bradlee’s time-twisting lens. Aubrey Logan unexpectedly uncovered the swing side of Vanilla Ice, while American Idol star evoked the spirit of Janis Joplin through Wheatus’ “Teenage Dirtbag.” Mykal Kilgore melded the original Idol superstar and the Queen of Soul on an Aretha-flavored take on Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone” and Sarah Marie Young strummed a uke to add a vintage Burt Bacharach cool to New Order’s “Bizarre Love Triangle.” Buy Album
One of the group’s best-selling releases, ‘Emoji Antique’ kicks things off with several PMJ classics, including two recorded in Switzerland during the group’s second European tour: American Idol star and singer-songwriter Haley Reinhart’s swooning torch song rendition of Radiohead’s loser anthem “Creep,” and the Andrew Sisters-inspired re-imagining of “All About That Bass” that corralled three of our favorite singers – Reinhart, Morgan James and Ariana Savalas – into one knockout trio, along with a few well-placed low notes from bassist Casey Abrams. Swipe Right For Vintage
‘Swipe Right for Vintage’ finds PMJ hooking up some unlikely couples, like the First Lady of Song and T-Swift on Aubrey Logan’s Ella Fitzgerald-flavored take on “Bad Blood,” Jackie Wilson and Celine Dion with Mykal Kilgore’s rousing “My Heart Will Go On,” or barrelhouse blues and White Stripes on Haley Reinhart’s transformative “Seven Nation Army.” And in a song that time-skips twice, taking its material from the ‘80s and its inspiration from the ‘40s, Sara Niemietz’s impeccable swing-era version of the Talking Heads’ “This Must Be the Place (Naïve Melody)” might convince David Byrne to trade in his famous Big Suit for a zoot suit. Top Hat on Fleek
‘Top Hat On Fleek’ was released just prior to PMJ’s enormously successful 2015 NorthAmerican tour and focuses on songs that allow millennials to engage in some nostalgia of their own (rendered, of course, in styles that would do the same for the parents and grandparents (and maybe even great-grandparents). Highlights: Blake Lewis resurrects Sisqo’s “Thong Song” in the wild and woolly manner of Louis Prima, while Aubrey Logan puts a shagadelic swinging-sixties spin on the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Give It Away.” Buy Album
Twist Is The New Twerk
PMJ’s first album, ‘Twist Is The New Twerk’, opens with a song that could serve as the project’s mantra: “We Can’t Stop,” Miley Cyrus’ celebration of an inhibition-shedding spree rendered in a ‘50s doo-wop style by pin-up fashioned singer Robyn Adele Anderson. The album also features the song that put the project on the map, a vaudevillian distressing of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Thrift Shop” that garnered more than a million views within a week of being posted. In addition, there’s Miche Braden’s New Orleans blues version of Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and PMJ’s first collaboration with the dulcet-toned master of melancholic mirth, Puddles Pity Party, as the “Sad Clown with the Golden Voice” intones Lorde’s “Royals.” Buy Album

New Gramophone, WHO DIS?

Monte Carlo Collection
Just one of the exotic destinations that has welcomed PMJ with open arms, Monte Carlo seems an ideal fit for the group’s slyly old-fashioned aesthetic. The name conjures a bygone era of gambling and glamour, a time when tuxedoed gentlemen and elaborately gowned ladies mingled against a backdrop of high-stakes roulette and baccarat, where determined racers took deadly curves at impossible speeds. James Bond went undercover there twice, and Cary Grant romanced the future Princess Grace as Alfred Hitchcock looked on.
