George Gershwin. Hoagy Carmichael. Cole Porter.
The Great American Songbook was a huge influence on me as a musician — particularly when I heard these songs interpreted by brilliant jazz pianists like Erroll Garner, Art Tatum, and Earl “Fatha” Hines.
For my latest piano album, STANDARDS & MELODIES, I recorded my take on 16 of my favorite nostalgic melodies from this era – songs like “After You’ve Gone,” “Skylark,” “Moon River,” and more.
A great melody remains timeless, so I did my best to honor the composers’ intentions, while incorporating my own jazz influences and improvisations.
I hope you enjoy listening to this collection as much as I enjoyed playing these great tunes! Stay safe and well, and I’m sending love to all of you.
