Hallelujah (Live at Royal Albert Hall) - Postmodern Jukebox ft. Effie Passero

It is hard to believe that it’s been 16 years since we filmed the first Postmodern Jukebox video in a Queens, NY basement.

Many of you likely remember finding us here during the “viral” years of 2013-15 — back when a jazz cover of a pop song could stop the internet cold. Our mission was never about pleasing an algorithm, though. It was to build something that would last—rooted in the belief that great music performed by extraordinary talent is truly timeless, belonging to all eras. Slowly but surely over the past decade, we’ve continued to build the PMJ Universe of alternate timeline covers, while highlighting some of the “Old Soul” performers of today who are most deserving of the spotlight.

Along the way, we’ve played rooms big and small, and our travels have taken us all around the world. Still – some shows stand out as ones we will always remember. On April 23, 2025, we played to a sold-out crowd at one of the most storied venues in music history: London’s Royal Albert Hall. It was a night of celebration — filled with laughter, camaraderie, and awe-inspiring talent. Then vocalist Effie Passero stepped up to the mic to sing Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” and time seemed to stop.

Here is that performance.
